One of the most popular items from our 2012 Auction was a day of paintball with Professors Turley and Maggs. Two teams of four bid on the item at our live auction in March and spent May 4th battling it out for the win. In the end, Professor Turley’s Torts Team defeated The Contracts Team 9 to 1. Over 700 students, faculty and staff members gathered on March 29 for the Annual GW Equal Justice Foundation Auction. Both a Silent Auction and Live Auction were held at the law school where GW students, faculty, staff and community members actively bid on approximately 150 donated items.
The efforts of EJF members, as well as the generous donations and participation from students, faculty members, and community businesses resulted in a fundraising total of $40,118, surpassing last year’s total of $33,800.
This year’s annual auction was a huge success! EJF is excited to announce that the silent and live auctions combined raised $40,118. There were over 125 silent auction items up for bid, including restaurant gift cards, bar review courses and unique items like Supreme Court bobbleheads, canvas photographic prints, and handmade jewelry. EJF also had over 50 live auction items, including 49 “dates” with professors and our SBA presidents.
Many thanks to our sponsors Themis and Kaplan, along with the many local businesses who donated. EJF is proud of the work of our Auction VPs AJ Kornblith, Gabrielle Lincoff and Carol Wu, pictured below. Their months of dedication resulted in a hugely successful auction day. Also, EJF would like to say thank you to our many volunteers, without which this auction could not take place. Thanks everyone, and we’ll see you next year!

This year’s Race for Justice was held on March 25 in Arlington, VA. It was a huge success, raising $3,850 for student stipends this year. The Race had 93 participants, including students, professors and community members. And many thanks to our sponsors. The Race’s success could not have happened without your generosity!

Think you know college ball? Selection Sunday is March 11th (the last day of Spring Break), so we will be signing up participants in the hard lounge Monday-Wednesday March 12-14. First round game play will begin Thursday, March 15, so the deadline to sign up will be 5 p.m., Wednesday March 14.
