Please join us for lunch on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, from 1:00-2:30 p.m., as the USCIB Arbitration Committee welcomes John Beechey (President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration) to Washington, D.C.  Mr. Beechey’s remarks coincide with the start of operations at

SICANA, Inc. (the ICC’s affiliate and new case management team in New York).  He will describe this exciting new development for ICC arbitration in North America, and provide other important updates from the ICC Court.

For the first time, ASIL and the American Branch of the International Law Association are partnering to host the ILA Biennial Conference together with the ASIL Annual Meeting, forming a single, joint gathering, representing a unique and historic convening of the international law community.The week’s events, organized around the theme “The Effectiveness of International Law,” will include keynotes by leading figures in the field; meetings of ILA Committees and Working Groups; more than 40 program sessions featuring panels, debates, and roundtable discussions on current issues in the field; ASIL Interest Group meetings, ASIL’s annual Women in International Law Interest Group and Hudson Medal Luncheons; and a Gala dinner, receptions, and networking opportunities. All events are open to all meeting attendees.
