(2) AIPLA Copyright Committee Request for Assistance

The American Intellectual Property Law Association is looking for law students interested in viewing and reporting on a public meeting hosted by the Department of Commerce Internet Policy Task Force on April 1st. This is an excellent opportunity for law students to assist the AIPLA Copyright Committee in their coverage of noteworthy events in copyright law. Students who cover the meeting will be expected to prepare a report for the AIPLA Copyright Committee. Students have the option to view the event by webinar but may also attend in person.

The Task Force will explore different ways the government can facilitate the development of the online licensing environment for copyright works. Particularly, the Task Force will focus on the development and use of standard identifiers for all types of works of authorship, interoperability among databases and systems used to identify owners of rights and terms of use, and a possible portal for linking to such databases and to licensing platforms.

If you are interested please contact aipla.lsc@gmail.com with a copy of your resume and a brief writing sample or statement of interest. Please note that the meeting will take place on April 1, so offers to assist must be received no later than Tuesday, March 31 at 12:00 p.m.
