On Wednesday, October 5th, from 5-7:30 PM, SIPLA will host its first Employer Outreach Program of the year. Representatives from several law firms will take part in a panel on“Finding Your Path in IP.” We will also be hosting a networking event before and after the panel. This event benefits each firm by dramatically increasing the number of attendees and benefits the students by allowing them to meet multiple firms at once and by having an educational panel.
There will be free food and drinks. Alcohol will be available via a ticket system for individuals over the age of 21 with a valid, government-issued ID.
Dress Code: Business Professional
Baker Botts LLP
Covington & Burling LLP
Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman
*The firms in attendance will not be collecting resumes or any sort of credentials from 1Ls, as it is against NALP guidelines to collect them at this time.
Students should also feel free to join the SIPLA exec board and upperclassmen for a brown bag lunch with coffee and cookies. Come hang out and destress from your LIA, ask any questions you might have ahead of the first EOP next week, and generally just get to know us! We’ll be in S304 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM on Wed. Sept. 28 so please stop by at your convenience!
On October 6-7, the Center for the Protection of Intellectual Property at George Mason Law will be hosting our Annual Fall Conference: “Intellectual Property & Global Prosperity.”
The conference will feature a keynote address from Dean Kamen, inventor of the Segway, the first wearable insulin pump, and many other inventions secured by more than 440 patents, as well as panels of IP experts from industry, academic and policy fields.
