(1) SIPLA Fall Semester Events
We are happy to announce we have finalized the dates for the following SIPLA’s fall semester events.
Sept. 13, 7pm-8pm – General Body Meeting
Sept. 25, 5pm-7pm – Mentor-Mentee Meet & Greet
Oct. 3, 5pm-7:30pm – Employer Outreach Program 1
Nov. 1, 5pm-7:30pm – Employer Outreach Program 2
Further details about these events will be discussed at next week’s general body meeting.

(2) Sign Up to Become a SIPLA Mentor!
SIPLA is happy to announce that it is continuing its mentorship program. This program provides 1L, transfer students, and LLMs with the opportunity to receive candid advice from upperclassmen about ow to succeed in law school, in particular for those interested in IP. But the mentorship program is nothing without mentors! Interested upperclassmen can sign up to be a mentor by completing the form here.

As always, we will be hosting a mentor-mentee meet & greet for mentees to meet their mentors on Sept. 25 at Elephant & Castle. Further details will be provided as the meet & greet approches.

(3) Job Opportunity – Ropes & Gray Summer Associate (DC, NY, and Silicon Valley)

(4) Job Opportunity – Wilson Sonsini Summer Associate (Austin and LA)

The Patent Litigation groups in WSGR’s Austin and Los Angeles offices are looking for summer associate candidates to join WSGR’s 2018 summer program. Please appy via CORE.

Austin: Electrical engineering, physics or computer science background preferred, but chemical or mechanical engineering also considered. Excellent academic credentials, verbal, written and interpersonal skills and technical background. For the life sciences group, a background in chemistry, biology, or other life sciences is required and Hatch-Waxman/ANDA litigation experience preferred. Excellent academic credentials, verbal, written and interpersonal skills are required.

(5) Job Opportunity – Wiley Rein Law Clerk

Wiley Rein LLP is currently accepting applications for an enthusiastic law student interested in making a valued contribution as a part-time law clerk in our highly regarded Intellectual Property practice. This candidate will perform legal research, prepare memoranda, and provide assistance in drafting briefs and other legal documents.

The candidate will also assist attorneys in preparing for depositions and trials, along with other litigation support. Opportunity to gain significant responsibility as well as get first‐hand experience working with practice group leaders in a fast‐paced law firm. All candidates should have excellent academic credentials and references. In addition, all candidates should have an undergraduate degree in chemistry, biology, electrical engineering, computer science, or a similar technical field.

(6) Job Opportunity – Alston & Bird Summer Associate (Dallas)

The Dallas office of Altson & Bird has an opening for a summer associate in their 2018 program. 2L and 3LE students with a technical background in computer science, chemical, electrical or mechanical engineering, chemistry, and physics are encouraged to apply.

(7) Job Opportunity – White & Case Summer Associate (DC)

White & Case’s Washington, DC office offers law students an opportunity to gain experience and training from an international law firm. Each summer associate is employed for a ten-week period during the summer. The assignments and responsibilities of a summer associate are similar to those of a newly hired first year associate.

JD candidates interested in a position as a summer associate should submit their cover letter, resume, law school transcript and a ten-page writing sample. We recruit summer associates continuously.

We look for highly motivated individuals with excellent academic credentials, who hold degrees in EE, CE, CS, and/or Physics (and related technical degrees), significant personal achievements and a strong commitment to the practice of law in a global and diverse law firm. We are interested in interviewing students who want to spend their legal careers in the US as well as students who would like to eventually transfer to an overseas office. Fluency in any second language is a plus, including, Arabic, French, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
